An alliance of two outstanding materials - aluminum and composite wood
Using Geolam’s patented process of co-extrusion, whereby an aluminum core section is fabricated with an outer covering, or skin, of composite wood, we produce our Architectural Elements profiles. Exhibiting the strength, stability and versatility of
aluminum with the warmth and aesthetic of natural wood, these products are beautifully enduring, require no maintenance and are light and easy to install. With 36 standard profiles, ranging in size and shape from square, round, elliptical and even diagonal, these profiles are the perfect solution for your facades, louvers, sunshades and other architectural accents.

Cladding/Soffit
The Superior Wood Hybrid Choice
To produce the profiles for cladding and soffits, we use our patented process of co-extrusion, whereby an aluminum core section is fabricated with an outer covering, or skin, of composite wood. This hybrid technology, invented in Japan in the 1990s, exhibits the strength, stability and versatility of aluminum with the warmth and aesthetic of natural wood. Geolam offers the same warmth and natural grain of wood, with more durability and none of the maintenance. Not only does Geolam cladding provide the aesthetic of wood, a popular design choice for building exteriors, it is easy to install, lightweight and better for the environment, too.
ASTM E-84 Class A Certified
Vertigo 5010 has achieved Class A designation under the ASTM E-84 test protocol, for both acceptable smoke index and slow flame spread. These test results may be viewed at geolaminc.com/product-info
Suitable for all-weather constructions, even though untreated
Geolam cladding needs no treatment, and is the ideal alternative to wood. Unlike wood, Geolam does not fade or turn gray. Neither does it allow for the growth or mold or mildew.
No warping
Geolam does not splinter, warp or crack. The boards have perfectly true edges.
Low maintenance
Geolam can be cleaned with soapy water or simply with a high pressure hose. Unlike traditional wood, its surface remains consistent, and does not shed fibers or splinters enhancing product longevity.
Easy installation
Installing Geolam is a fast and easy task and does not require any special equipment. Sawing, drilling, screwing and aligning: all these operations can be easily accomplished with standard tools

Geolam Difference
We reduce the moisture content of the wood fibers used to 0%.
Geolam® technology, developed 35 years ago in Japan, embraces a patented process in which wood fibers are added to a high intensity mixer. The fibers are dried through a friction process incorporating a special mixer blade design. Once all moisture has been driven out of the wood, a thermoplastic is added along with a special reinforcing agent. The plastic is then literally beaten into the cells or tracheids of the wood, this being only possible because the wood contains no moisture. This creates an entirely new material, neither wood nor plastic, rather a fully integrated composite.
This is why Geolam® is physically stronger and more stable in terms of its dimensions than any other wood-fiber composite product. Furthermore, since the wood actually surrounds the plastic, the finished product looks and feels like natural wood. This natural wood-like look and feel is also made possible because of the high wood content of the compound. Wood fibers are mixed with thermoplastics at an 8:1 volume ratio of wood to plastic (52% wood / 30% polypropylene and 18% other e.g. stabilizers, pigment, etc. by weight). Since the majority of the compound is wood, the product naturally takes on the characteristics of hardwood.
