Acoustic Wall Panels
Whoever said that 90% of all communication is nonverbal likely never tried to converse over the clattering of a noisy restaurant, or strained to hear a presenter's point in a cavernous conference room. Conversations in public spaces connect us, whether it's in a restaurant, house of worship, conference room, or any space where people come together. If your space is not acoustically designed to make sure people can be heard, those personal connections, and the potential benefits they provide for your business, such as 5-star reviews and return customers, can be lost. Broadway panels from Primacoustic let your customers, congregants, patrons — anyone in your place of business - be heard.
EcoScapes panels are made from PET, an environmentally-friendly acoustic treatment material that doesn't compromise on sound absorption performance. EcoScapes PET panels can be tacked, screwed or bolted directly onto a wall, depending on the material. Panels can be easily cut to size, creating a result that addresses both sound absorption and design needs.
Environmentally-friendly EcoScapes panels contain no formaldehyde, VOCs, glues or binders. They are also odourless, non-allergenic, and safe to handle without protective equipment. The high-density panels are impact resistant, inert and durable, meaning they should stand up to years of use without noticeable wear or discolouration.
The walls of a room are common sources of acoustic problems. These hard, flat surfaces allow sound to bounce around the room, leading to intelligibility problems like echo and reverberation. Acoustic problems can be tamed with traditional fabric-based panels, but the visual effect is not always in line with the decor or design of a room.
Ecoscapes Slat Wall panels offer a stylish, modern approach to sound absorption, a solution that you, as a designer or architect, can appreciate. EcoScapes Slat Wall panels take the sustainability and acoustic benefits of eco-friendly PET panels, and add a selection of classy, natural wood veneer finishes, to give any environment a touch of tasteful, high-end style.
The name alone says it all. Hercules. A durable impact-resistant acoustic panel designed to withstand the potential damage that can occur in public spaces such as gymnasiums, offices, classrooms or other spaces. While most sound panels are delicate and susceptible to damage, Hercules acoustic panels stand apart, ready to reduce reverberation in a boomy gym or conference room, while keeping their “new" appearance, even after impact from a basketball or bump by an individual. Hercules panels are manufactured from the same high-density glass wool core as Primacoustic's popular Broadway panels, but the face is covered with a thick, high density rigid fibreglass layer that absorbs most frequencies, while protecting the panel from possible damage due to accidental contact.
Large spaces are notoriously difficult to tame when it comes to controlling echoes, reverberation, and other acoustic anomalies. Add to this challenge a desire to have your sound absorption panels complement a room's aesthetics and it's clear why there are so many beautiful large spaces with terrible acoustics.
Our BroadBand Raw Acoustic Panel offers the perfect solution to this challenge, both from a sound absorption and aesthetic perspective. Made from a high-density glass wool, the large 48″ x 48″ BroadBand Raw panel provides a premium level of sound absorption for a large room. These versatile panels can be used in raw form or easily integrated with our TelaScapes Fabric Track System, where they can be wrapped with any fabric to match the decor of a room or space.
The TelaScapes Fabric Track System allows you to acoustically treat any commercial or residential space without sacrificing aesthetics, while maintaining a high level of effective sound absorption within the space. The system is comprised of three fully customizable components: Broadband Raw filler panels made of high density glass wool or eco-friendly TelaFill PET panels, that provide broadband acoustic absorption, a modular track system that is almost universally compatible with any surface, and a selection of stretch fabric available in a wide range of colours.
Ceiling Acoustics
Every aspect of a room - walls, floor, and especially the ceiling - can contribute to problematic acoustic reflections, echoes, reverb, and other room anomalies. Enter Primacoustic's Broadway Clouds, the perfect multi-shape panel solution for taming ceiling sound wave reflections. Broadway Clouds hang from the ceiling, or can be used as baffles or wall panels, capturing reflections by absorbing sound as it hits the face of the panel, trapping reflections on the back side. Made of high-quality micromesh material with resin hardened edges, the panels can be covered in Broadway acoustically transparent fabric, or coated in proprietary Absolute White paintable finish, which allows you to lightly spray paint the panels on-site for pleasing aesthetics without affecting acoustical performance.
EcoScapes Clouds are functional when it comes to superior sound absorption, as well as fashionable when it comes to matching the colours and decor of your room or space.
EcoScapes clouds are made from PET, an environmentally-friendly acoustic treatment material that doesn't compromise on sound absorption performance. And EcoScapes clouds don't compromise on design either, available in a wide range of colours for matching the decor of your room. Panels can be easily cut to size as well, creating a cloud solution that addresses both sound absorption and design needs.
Environmentally-friendly EcoScapes panels contain no formaldehyde, VOCs, glues or binders. They are also odourless, non-allergenic, and safe to handle without protective equipment. Your mixing console is the centrepiece of your studio. That place in the room where you spend hours upon hours making critical mixing decisions. Crafting your perfect mix calls for an optimized listening space, one free of annoying resonances and reverberation that can cause resonant peaks to arrive at the critical mix position.
Primacoustic Stratus Studio Ceiling Clouds are the perfect solution for an imperfect listening environment. Hung directly over your mixing console, Stratus Studio Ceiling Clouds eliminate ceiling reflections while enlarging the sweet spot in your studio. So you can focus on crafting the perfect mix, not shifting around to find the sweet spot.
Large rooms present a range of acoustic challenges when it comes to controlling two common culprits - reverb and ambient noise. Full-sized Broadway Baffles are designed to tame acoustic anomalies in large spaces that have low ceilings, such as community halls, conference rooms, meeting spaces and houses of worship.
But Broadway Baffles do more than reduce ambient noise and bothersome reverb and echoes in your room. These hangable baffles are available in a range of colours to be aesthetically-pleasing and complementary to a room's decor, and can even be painted or wrapped to fit a custom colour scheme or design.
Sometimes, adding sound absorption panels on your wall is not feasible or possible. Examples would be a glass-paneled office conference room or a classroom featuring blackboards or whiteboards on the walls — both spaces where the walls are a functional or design component in the room.
There is a solution. Primacoustic StratoTiles are extra-absorbent acoustic ceiling tiles that reduce room echo and reverb, effectively giving you a reliable sound absorption solution without having to turn to wall mount panels. StratoTile high performance ceiling panels offer the same absorption characteristics as our flagship Broadway panels in standard drop ceiling tile sizes and finishes.
StratoTile ceiling panels are the perfect sound absorption solution for call centres, boardrooms, offices, restaurants, classrooms, or any room where excessive reverberation and echo can make conversations difficult and wall panels are not an option.
In many cases, the challenge is not just to contain resonance and reverberations in the room itself, it's to keep those reflections from escaping to adjacent rooms through the ceiling tiles.
This is where Primacoustic's ThunderTile T-Bar Acoustic Panels are the perfect ceiling panel sound absorption solution.
ThunderTiles combine a highly absorptive acoustic panel with the sound blocking attributes of gypsum, making them the perfect solution for rooms where sound bleed is a concern.
Ceiling baffles are a convenient solution, when adding panels to the walls isn't an option. These unobtrusive low-profile baffles will reduce unwanted room reverb and ambient noise and work especially well in spaces with low ceilings.
Our customers want acoustic treatment options that complement the existing aesthetic of the room. In spaces with wooden beams or rafters, Designer Grain Beams will blend in with the background. Meanwhile, in spaces with more utilitarian ceilings, they'll stand out as a visually arresting feature in their own right, adding some rustic elegance.
The four wood-grain style finishes have been chosen to match those of the EcoScapes Slat Wall range of panels, and these two products will complement each other perfectly in a room layout.

Hardware and Tools
Primacoustic acoustic panels can be mounted on a wall by various methods, depending on your specific application. In addition to using typical screws and adhesives, Primacoustic has developed a series of impalers to provide the installer with a simple, quick and effective method of mounting acoustic panels onto walls without causing serious surface defacement.
The same fabric used on Primacoustic Broadway™ panels is available for separate purchase. Perfect for recovering panels to match Broadway panels, or for covering wall panels and diffusers to blend into existing decor. Priced per linear foot, 54″ (4.5') width.
Perfect for installations where panels need to be mounted securely, the Rotofast Snap-On Anchor locks the panel onto any flat surface. Simply twist the anchor into the panel using the included tool, and attach the corresponding locking pins to the wall or ceiling. The panel clicks and locks onto these pins, providing safe overhead/ceiling mounting and secure wall installations in high traffic areas.
Primacoustic offers a range of hardware to make the process of suspending a cloud or baffle easier, whatever the ceiling type. Our screw-in anchors simply twist into the panel material for a sturdy hold, while our aircraft steel SlipNot cabling system provides a reliable and adjustable means of hanging the panels. Used together, you can rest safe in the knowledge that the panels will hang securely in place for as long as you need them to.
Tucking fabric into the channels of the TelaScapes Tracks system for a professional look is easy with Primacoustic's specially-designed tools. The TelaRocker is perfect for large sections of fabric, with a curved blade and ergonomic handle for gently guiding the fabric into the channels of the track. The 2″ & 5″ Finishing Tools are perfect for more precise fits and are excellent choices for finishing corners and joints.
Miscellaneous Products
Whether it's a live or a recording environment, bleed from cymbals and other instruments can create problems with trying to get a great mix. Primacoustic's CrashGuard is the perfect solution for bleed in these situations. The CrashGuard is a unique sound-shielding device that mounts to the boom stand, preventing bleed from cymbals and other sounds from entering the drum microphone. Essentially, the CrashGuard surrounds the microphone with a sonic barrier to prevent sound spilling from the cymbals into drum mics. Constructed from high-impact ABS to protect microphones from a wayward drumstick, the under-belly of the CrashGuard is fully covered with high-density open cell foam to absorb internal reflections and reduce phase cancellation.
Sound absorption panel placement often focuses primarily on walls and ceilings. But sound waves in your room don't just bounce predictably from floor to ceiling and between walls. Low-mid frequencies can get trapped in the corners of your room, creating a “boomy" effect that will be evident during playback.
Primacoustic's Cumulus Tri-Corner Bass Trap helps eliminate this boominess, simply and efficiently. Made from high-density glass wool, the Cumulus Tri-Corner Bass Trap creates a 17″ deep air cavity in room corners. The result is high-quality broadband sound absorption, taming problematic resonances in the low-mid region.
The Primacoustic FlexiBooth literally opens the doors to a range of voice control options and room absorption possibilities, from vocals and voiceovers, to podcasts and live performance. True to its name, the versatile FlexiBooth doubles as a variable ambience room controller, with its open panels helping control the level of ambient noise in a room.
Creating the ideal acoustic environment in your room requires striking a balance between controlling low frequency dispersion and high frequency energy.
Primacoustic's FlexiFuser Combination Diffuser brings all-in-one efficiency and versatility to your acoustic treatment projects, combining a variable slat diffuser to control high frequencies with high-density acoustic material for sound absorption. The result is an efficient acoustic treatment panel that helps eliminate flutter echo and powerful primary reflections, increasing the sense of space or air in the room.
The Primacoustic FullTrap does exactly what its name implies — provide 3-way sound absorption throughout the full frequency spectrum. This high-performance wall mount panel absorbs deep, low bass, allowing you to be confident that your mixes are as accurate as possible. A 3-inch thick Broadway panel effectively absorbs frequencies down to 125Hz and extends below 100Hz. The FullTrap's low frequency extension utilizes a suspended diaphragm that stretches nearly the full height of the panel, capturing bass by vibrating where the low frequencies are most prominent.
For those moments when you want the benefit of live musicians recording together in the same room, without the headaches that come with bleed and spillover on a recorded track, there's the versatile Primacoustic GoTrap. The GoTrap is a portable studio Gobo and bass trap that looks as great as it works, passively removing unwanted bass resonance from the room while controlling bleed that can be picked up by a mic from a drumset, amplifier, or other live instrument. Crafted from study Baltic birch, the portable GoTrap makes use of Primacoustic's high-absorption Broadway fabric covered high-density glass wool material to reduce the chance that unwanted resonance and spillover from live instruments will ruin your otherwise perfectly recorded performance.
When it comes to critical listening and creating your perfect mix, every part of the production chain has a positive, or negative impact. For example, resonance occurs when your monitors aren't properly isolated. Speaker resonance can trick your ears into hearing sonic nuances in the mix that aren't really there. The solution is simple but often overlooked - placing isolation pads under your speakers to separate the sound from the speaker so that it won't resonate with the desk or shelf during playback. Enter Primacoustic's IsoPads. Simple solutions for an often overlooked problem. IsoPads allow positioning of your monitors the way you want for critical mixing, without worrying about sound resonating through the floor and furniture.
Low frequencies coming from wood or metal flooring on a live stage can travel through metal such as a microphone stand to create unwanted resonance that can negatively impact your live mix. This is particularly the case with kick drum mics, positioned directly in front of the kick where low bass and vibration are common. Primacoustic's KickStand is a heavy microphone boom-arm isolator that combines a massive stabilizing base with an isolation pad to eliminate resonance from the stage, drum riser and studio floor from entering the microphone. The design combines a thick, high-density open cell acoustic foam isolation pad with a laser cut steel platform to essentially decoupling the microphone stand from the stage and eliminate unwanted resonance.
While the critical listening position is essential to focus on in room sound design, a well-documented science fact is that the most difficult frequencies to control are in the deep low bass region. This is due to the long wavelengths that require a lot of energy to produce, and then tremendous effort to control. These low bass frequencies tend to gravitate towards the corners of a room, where they get “stuck," leading to frequency bumps in the room that cause the sound to change depending on where you are positioned.
The London Bass Trap kit is the perfect solution to this “too much bass" problem. Easily mounted in room corners, London Bass Trap kits use high-density glass wool panels to trap low frequencies as they enter, and try to exit, the room corner.
In critical listening environments such as a mixing room or recording studio, lack of control over low bass frequencies will create significant problems, leading to mixes that don't accurately reflect the quality of the actual track. Your mix will be either too boomy or too thin.
The MaxTrap solves this by providing 3-way absorption throughout the full frequency spectrum. In addition to its front mounted high-performance Broadway panels, the Max Trap uses a suspended diaphragm that stretches the full size of the panel to absorb deep, low bass.
The result is an elegant sound absorption solution that solves the problems of controlling bass frequencies so your mixes are as accurate as possible.
Proper acoustic design for a room does not always focus only on reverberation and resonance coming from the walls, floor, and ceiling. External noise from plumbing, HVAC ducts, and adjoining room bleed, can also interfere with creating an ideal listening environment.
PrimaBlock Loaded Vinyl Barrier is a flexible material that can be sandwiched between layers of drywall or suspended in the airspace between wall surfaces to reduce sound transmission and bleed through walls, floors and ceilings.
Manufactured without the use of hazardous lead or heavy metals, PrimaBlock vinyl adds that extra layer of sound absorption you need in an acoustic design project, particularly in commercial buildings and corporate spaces where external noise is a common source of audio problems and poor acoustics.
In addition to its effectiveness at addressing sound absorption problems, acoustic treatment is often used to open up a room by introducing a sense of air and space. Primacoustic's Radiator Open Grid Diffuser handles this with style and efficiency.
Sporting a natural laminated wood finish and featuring a stylish grid design that enhances any room's decor, you can mount the Radiator on your wall or use it as a ceiling cloud to help eliminate standing waves and powerful reflections in your room.
When mounted on a wall, the Radiator's 64 cubicles break up sound energy when it hits the hard wood and scatters around the room, reflecting back in multiple directions. When used as a cloud or mounted in the ceiling, the Radiator enhances your room's sound by creating natural trailing reverb without amplifying the compressed sound of a small space.
Is it possible to get more punch and extended low end in your mixes without using EQ or other effects to colour and enhance a track? The Recoil Stabilizer makes this possible, while eliciting greater sonic detail at all frequencies, improved transient response and more defined depth of field. As flat and accurate as a good reference monitor can be, your mixes still won't reflect the true sonic quality of a performance if the monitors are sitting on a stand, desk or console that results in vibrations and resonance tones that play with the accuracy of the mix.
Designed to work with the TelaScapes modular track stretch fabric system, TelaFill PET filler panels offer an environmentally-conscious choice for your acoustic design projects, without having to compromise on sound absorption.
Made from eco-friendly PET (polyethylene terephthalate), a common plastic used in beverage containers, packaging, textiles, waterproofing and resins, TelaFill PET filler panels are highly sound absorbent, while also being odourless, non-allergenic, and safe to handle without protective equipment.
In addition, these high-density panels are impact resistant, inert and durable, meaning they should stand up to years of use without noticeable wear or discolouration. The panels integrate with Primacoustic's TelaScapes modular track system for a complete and eco-friendly solution to any acoustic design or sound absorption project.
The versatile TelaScapes Track System includes a wide array of stretch fabric colour options. The multiple colour options you can choose from allow you to keep aesthetics in mind and match the decor of your room or space in all of your acoustical treatment designs. We partner with Guilford of Maine, a leader in biodegradable fabrics and textiles, to give you access to a wide range of colours and styles to suit your room's decor. Also available is our popular Broadway fabrics that are designed to be acoustically transparent.
The versatile TelaScapes track system includes two types of track pieces: Perimeter Tracks for outside edges and Mid-Wall Tracks for joining two sections of paneling together. Both integrate with heavy fabric types as well as your choice of acoustic fill material. Built from recyclable PVC or recycled uPVC, durable TelaScapes Tracks can be cut to size if needed. The tracks are available in both light and dark colour options to allow track edges to blend seamlessly with fabric choices and surrounding decor.
A voice is an acoustic instrument, much like a guitar or a piano. And just like other acoustic instruments, recording the voice, whether for a vocal track or an eBook, requires optimal sonic conditions. The simplicity of recording a pure voice onto a single track can become challenging in today's noisy world. Distractions abound, cars, horns, planes – ambient noise that can ruin the opportunity to capture a pristine track.
Engineers have used baffles to diminish ambient noise when recording instruments like guitar, piano, and drums for years. Why not do the same for the voice?

Guides
Whether you are designing a vocal booth, or an isolation room for instruments, the desired outcome is the same: The room must keep outside noise from polluting the recording, and the room itself must not introduce anomalies to the voice or instrument.
Sound above 400Hz is considered to be directional. In fact, the higher the frequency, the more directional the sound waves tend to be. In a home theatre or 2-channel listening room, these waves bounce off the nearby walls and produce very noticeable second order reflections which compete with the direct sound from the loudspeakers.
You can easily control these reflections by strategically placing acoustic panels along the side walls to absorb them. As a rule, you should mount them at ear and/or speaker height and position them along the wall to capture the early reflections from the loudspeakers.
A high ceiling is great for making a room feel larger, and interior designers and developers often incorporate high ceilings into homes. However, while they're a great choice design-wise, they also provide sounds with a longer path of travel, resulting in more noise in the room. Here's a look at how to reduce noise in a room with a high ceiling.
