Below Grade & Foundation
All building foundations come in contact with the ground. Wherever a building is located, water, temperature, air and soil on the foundation can impact the performance and integrity of the total structure. Continuous polyiso rigid foam insulation is an effective way to reduce foundation energy loss and protect against moisture problems. Rmax® Below Grade insulation and protection board delivers a high R-value per inch, excellent moisture resistance and superior foundation protection - all in one solution for below-grade exterior walls
RMAX® Below Grade Resources
Commercial Wall Insulation
This superior insulation product has glass fiber reinforced aluminum foil facers. The exposed side has a heavy 12mil aluminum reflective surface and is designed to provide an attractive interior finish without the need for a thermal barrier - up to 4.5" on walls or 12" on ceilings.
Rmax ECOMAXci® FR Air Barrier has glass fiber reinforced aluminum foil facers on both sides - offering enhanced durability, dimensional stability and fire performance. ECOMAXci® FR Air Barrier allows for optimum efficiency through multiple design options, ease of construction, a better building envelope and reduced energy usage.
Rmax ECOMAXci® Ply is a composite product of polyiso insulation with inorganic, polymer coated glass fiber mat facers bonded to 5/8" or 3/4" fire retardant treated plywood (FRTP). This insulation has been tested for multiple NFPA 285 assemblies and is approved for use in exterior walls of buildings of any height.
Rmax ECOMAXci® FR Ply is a Class A energy-efficient thermal insulation board composed of a closed-cell polyisocyanurate (polyiso) foam core with glass fiber reinforced aluminum facers on both sides bonded to 5/8" or 3/4" fire retardant treated plywood.
ECOMAXci® FR Ply has been tested per NFPA 285 and successfully passed. The NFPA 285 listing/approval is dependent on all components of the assembly. Third party evaluations and listings should also be consulted for specific instructions.

This lightweight thermal insulation board has reinforced aluminum foil facers. Thermasheath® is suitable for use in cavity walls, masonry walls, vaulted ceilings and some limited roofing applications, as well as many other building envelope continuous insulation applications. It is also an integral piece to maintaining the continuous insulation solution when Thermasheath®-SI is used as intermittent bracing.
Durasheath® offers energy performance and superior durability with its non-metallic, inorganic polymer coated glass fiber mat facers. It is intended for use in exterior walls with stucco veneer, concrete sandwich panels and many other building envelope applications, including those where an impermeable foil faced product is not desired.

Residential Wall Insulation
This lightweight thermal insulation board has reinforced aluminum foil facers. Thermasheath® is suitable for use in cavity walls, masonry walls, vaulted ceilings and some limited roofing applications, as well as many other building envelope continuous insulation applications. It is also an integral piece to maintaining the continuous insulation solution when Thermasheath®-SI is used as intermittent bracing.
Thermasheath®-SI is suitable for use in residential wood stud construction. Furthermore, with 1/2" interior gypsum, it is designed to be a one-to-one substitute for wood sheathing in shear wall resistance.
ThermaBase-CI™ is engineered to allow for normal expansion of the wood without gaping the insulation layer.
